Job Summary:
Project Engineer is responsible for assisting the Project Manager and/or supporting the Superintendent in preparing, monitoring, and adjusting project schedules, as well as managing submittals, RFI s, plan document management, project specifications, purchasing etc.
Essential Functions:
- Assist Project Manager in variety of responsibilities related to one or more projects. Relieve Superintendents from routine administration.
- Prepare, monitor, and adjust project schedules in Oracle s Primavera P6 software.
- Expedite and review shop drawings and submittals. Field verify conditions.
- Create and obtain closure to RFI s.
- Create documentation in Procore such as logs, budgets, reports, photos, punch lists, ect.
- Assist Project Manager with creating Owner and Subcontractor Change Orders
- Expedite material deliveries. Solicit proposals from vendors and perform purchasing activities.
- Maintain and administer quality control programs inclusive of safety programs. Documentation and compliance with third party inspections, design professionals, and testing laboratories.
- Interface with property management.
- Assist Superintendent in field layout and compliance with drawings and specifications.
- Assist in ensuring subcontractor contract compliance in the field. For projects with limited administrative support, collect certificates of insurance, enroll subcontractors in OCIP, and process vendor payments with lien releases and other accounting functions.
- Enhances and presents a positive image of the company and a professional manner toward employees, staff and the public.
- Create weekly and monthly reports.
- Create meeting minutes.
- Take over supervisory role of specific trades in the field if assigned by supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Take on increasing responsibilities over time. Have a future career goal of being a Vice President of Construction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Science required from an accredited college.
- 4 years of experience in multifamily construction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Project management software Procore and Scheduling software P-6 is essential. Knowledge and understanding of Revit and Navisworks is desirable.

- Job is intermittently sedentary but requires mobility (i.e., climb stairs) to tour, show, and inspect apartments on a daily basis
- Will use some repetitive motion of hand-wrist in using computer and writing
- Must have normal range of vision to complete applications, leases, general paperwork and handle computerized bookkeeping duties; hearing and speech to communicate with residents, vendors, supervisors and coworkers on the telephone or in person on a regular basis
- Must handle stressful, urgent, novel and diverse work situations on a daily basis

- Works in a typical office setting with daily exposure to outdoor environment (i.e., heat, cold, damp, rain, etc.) when touring community
- Hazards can be avoided with proper lifting techniques, SDS and general safety training
- Will be regularly called upon to work long hours and odd schedules (including weekends)
- Position requires periodic travel by automobile to handle work-related activities
- May require airline travel, out-of-town and /or overnight trips
