Vice President – Technology

Overview:

AMLI Residential has an excellent career opportunity for a Vice President of Technology. AMLI Residential is a leading national owner and developer of luxury apartment communities. We currently own and manage over 26,000 apartment homes in eight U. S. markets.

As the Vice President of Technology, you will lead teams responsible for corporate IT operations and multi-family property technologies and be at the forefront of AMLI’s understanding, evaluation, adoption, and optimization of multi-family technology. This position will be based out of Atlanta or Chicago.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Research and understand trends in information technology, the multi-family apartment industry, and property technology.
• Introduce ideas, technology, and methods contributing to AMLI’s strategic vision.
• Lead, manage, coach, and develop internal staff.
• Oversee and direct staff in the efficient management of networks, infrastructure, systems, and service desk operations
• Lead and participate in the technology acquisition process. Evaluate business case requirements, technologies and vendors, conduct RFP selection process and execute proof of concept pilots.
• Oversee and manage staff responsible for implementing multiple concurrent community and building technology projects.
• Regularly interface with the CEO of AMLI Management Company, CIO, VP of Marketing, AMLI Development & Construction VPs, and other AMLI leadership on initiatives.
• Cultivate and manage AMLI’s relationships with industry peers, partners, and vendors
• Represent AMLI strategic interests on industry panels and groups, partner customer advisory councils, and AMLI committees.

Travel:
Travel up to 10% may be required, including attendance at conferences and meetings

Hybrid office/home schedule. Our office is conveniently located in downtown Chicago, close to all public transportation.

Education and Experience Required:

• 3+ years experience in the multifamily apartment industry preferred.
• College degree required. Information Technology or Business degree preferred. 7+ years of experience in Information Technology role with increasing levels of responsibility preferred.
• Knowledgeable of current available technology solutions and proficient in Microsoft applications. Strong working knowledge of property management software and applicable policies/procedures required.
• Experience in managing a diverse workforce. Ability to manage conflict, provide strategic direction and drive business results by managing the performance of staff members
