Banking and Treasury Operations
- Assist with account administration duties such as opening and closing bank accounts, establishing fraud protection, maintaining log of all bank accounts, updating authorized signatories on accounts as needed
- Act as backup / second system administrator for third party banking systems while ensuring a controlled environment and limited account visibility to users
- Input wires initiated outside of Kyriba, ensuring proper authorization and documentation exists.
- Assist Gables accountants and property managers with transaction inquiries, stop payments, and other investigations
- Review daily check and ACH positive pay exceptions and ensure exceptions are cleared in a timely prior to bank cutoffs, process exceptions at each bank.
- Work with Controller and IT and projects team where required to assist with the development and implementation of various Treasury technology initiatives.
- Handle and monitor credit card disputes and credit card refunds.
- Review daily wire activity in Kyriba and provide wire confirmations to interested parties.
- Release daily wires in Kyriba.
- Maintain and update Kyriba vendor additions and maintenance.
- Remit unclaimed property / escheat in accordance with state guidelines.
- Assist with P-Card administration.
Process Improvement
- Active Participant in efficiency initiatives between departments
- Coordinate with IT on treasury related system upgrades/changes
- Provide support/training for on-site associates related to new treasury initiatives
- Other duties as assigned by management
Education
- B.A. with emphasis in Accounting or Finance is required.
Experience
A minimum of three years real estate accounting experience with sound understanding of banking and treasury. Multifamily experience preferred. Yardi preferred.
Skills
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to the use of various accounting software
- Advanced Excel skills (spreadsheet applications)
- Demonstrated analytical skills, financial acumen, proven ability to work in a detail-oriented environment, strong problem solving and quantitative abilities
- Proven ability to select, train, lead and motivate a team
- Ability to understand accounting related policies and procedures established by the Company
- Ability to read and write fluently in the English language
- Exceptional communication skills, with demonstrated ability to present concepts both verbally and in writing in a coherent manner
- Proven organizational and time management skills (ability to prioritize effectively)
- Willingness to work in a team based environment
- Maintain a professional image
- Strong accounting skills with knowledge of all facts of financial reporting including general ledger, balance sheet, income statements, and cash flow sheets
- Maintain an excellent customer service relationship by adhering to the Gables Pledges of Customer Service
Attendance
This position is exempt from overtime and may entail working hours as needed to perform the position requirements satisfactorily. The position is scheduled for an average 40-hour workweek. However, depending on reporting requirements, it may require the associate to work additional hours from time to time. Travel may be required periodically.
