The Senior Director of Applications & Analytics will lead Gables’ strategic initiatives related to the innovation, implementation, optimization, and support of enterprise applications and analytics platforms. As a strategic member of our technology leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving operational efficiency, enabling data-driven decision-making, and maximizing the value of our technology investments. The role will have a strong emphasis on Yardi as the core enterprise system, property management technology and software, business process improvement, and data lifecycle management. The position reports to the Senior Vice President of Information Technology. The Senior Director of Applications & Analytics will lead a team of more than 15 professionals, including two direct reports at the Director level.
Work Location:
The position is located at the Gables Residential Headquarters in Atlanta, GA (Buckhead). The current work from home policy is three days per week in the office and two days per week remote and is subject to change. The position is expected to travel 6-12 times per year for internal meetings and multifamily industry conferences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for enterprise applications and analytics aligned with the goals and objectives of the Gables Residential.
- Provide strategic guidance and thought leadership on technology trends, innovations, and best practices in enterprise applications and analytics.
- Collaborate with senior executives and stakeholders to define the vision, roadmap, and priorities for enterprise applications and analytics initiatives.
- Serve as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for Yardi software and modules, ensuring effective utilization and optimization across the organization.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven experience (at least 10 years) in a leadership role overseeing enterprise applications, analytics, and data management initiatives within the multifamily industry.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of enterprise application systems, including ERP, CRM, HRIS, and related technologies, with specific experience in the multifamily sector.
- Proficiency in Yardi software, including experience with core Yardi modules such as Property Management, Accounting, Leasing, and Renting, along with a deep understanding of Yardi best practices.
- Solid understanding of IT governance, security, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI for creating interactive dashboards and visualizations.
- Strong experience in Microsoft SQL Server, including Analysis Services, Integration Services, and Reporting Services.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving common goals.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully delivering large-scale enterprise application projects on time and within budget in the multifamily industry.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully driving digital transformation initiatives and implementing innovative technology solutions.
- Proven ability to think strategically, analyze complex problems, and develop innovative solutions within the multifamily industry.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Education & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
- Master’s degree desirable.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, Agile) are highly desirable.
- Oversee the implementation, configuration, and integration of Yardi software and related property management technologies to streamline operations and enhance business processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging Yardi software and property management technology to drive innovation, improve user experience, and increase operational efficiency.
- Provide guidance and support to end-users, troubleshooting system issues, and delivering training programs to enhance user adoption and proficiency.
- Lead comprehensive reviews of existing business processes, workflows, and data management practices to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Develop and implement standardized processes, procedures, and guidelines to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Drive process automation initiatives, leveraging technology solutions to streamline workflows and reduce manual efforts.
- Develop and implement data lifecycle management strategies, including data governance, data quality, data integration, and data security, to ensure the availability, accuracy, and reliability of data assets.
- Design and implement advanced analytics solutions using Microsoft PowerBI and Microsoft SQL Server platform, enabling data-driven insights and reporting capabilities.
- Drive the adoption of data analytics and visualization tools across the organization, empowering stakeholders to make informed decisions based on real-time data.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of professionals responsible for enterprise applications, support, analytics, and data management.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing culture within the IT department, promoting knowledge sharing, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, business units, and external vendors to ensure successful project execution, timely delivery, and alignment with business objectives.
- Stay informed about Yardi’s roadmap and future developments, providing insights and recommendations on leveraging new features and functionalities.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including configuration details, user guides, and standard operating procedures.
- Actively participate in multifamily industry organizations, webinars, conferences, and forums to stay informed about the latest trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the multifamily industry.
- Network with industry experts, vendors, and thought leaders to build relationships and stay abreast of developments in multifamily technology.
- Share knowledge and insights gained from industry engagements with internal stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
