POSITION Payroll Payroll Analyst / Senior AnalystSummary
The Senior Payroll Administrator performs all payroll functions to ensure accuracy and timely processing of wages and salaries to employees. The Senior Payroll Administrator has a strong working knowledge of regulations governing payroll as defined by the Internal Revenue Service, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Social Security Administration, state and local taxing jurisdictions and any government body with authority governing payroll.
RESPONSIBILITIES
*Responsible for providing advanced operational and administrative support to Payroll team to include reviewing payroll data, reconciling timesheets and maintaining employee files
*Create/edit written communications, reports, or other items on a daily basis
*Maintain direct ownership of tasks/projects
*Perform gross-to-net calculations as required to review and validate payroll data and output.
*Calculate, process, review and verify special payments, including stock options as required, including application of correct earnings codes.
*Maintain current knowledge of payroll and related policies and procedures to ensure correct application to daily processing.
*Verify, review and maintain control over payroll system input and output.
*Coordinate with other areas of the organization for matters related to application of company policy.
*Responsible for balancing, verifying and applying interfaces to the payroll system.
*Responsible for analyzing and resolving items appearing on payroll system error reports.
*Responsible for resolving escalated payroll issues.
*Provide Support to the HR Services Team as needed for case management issues and work assigned cases in a timely manner.
*Correctly calculate payments made to beneficiaries/estates of deceased employees and understand and explain taxability of such payments and how payments are reported in year of death and year after death.
*Maintain current knowledge of the Workday and J D Edwards systems.
*Assist in identifying problem trends and recommend potential solutions.
*Participate in department projects and special initiatives as needed.
*Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
*Associate degree or higher preferred in related field or equivalent work experience
*Knowledge of federal, state and local tax laws is required
*Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designations preferred
*Five years plus processing payroll in a large multi-state environment Experience with weekly and union payrolls desired
*Experience with the JD Edwards payroll system and Workday is desired
