Tasks & Responsibilities:

* Direct supervision of 3rd party staff of 14 full and part-time personnel with emphasis on developing and maintaining a comprehensive training program as it directly relates to crime prevention and life safety;
* Maintain and improve upon our existing day to day operation for a 710,000 and 140,000 sq. ft. with 230,000 sq. ft. shopping mall in Pickering as well as Leed Gold, Office Building;
* Development and implementation as well as regular review of emergency procedures, critical incident response plans, building access control, security systems, pandemic preparedness and fire safety plan;
* Assist in organizing and implementing seminars for office tenants regarding safety, along with fire warden training, planning as well as implementation of annual fire drills;
* Ensure that proper procedures are observed relative to reporting of liability claims and completion of occurrence reports as it relates to Cushman & Wakefield Policy;
* Respond immediately to all emergencies and co-ordinate activities in accordance with established policies and procedures;
* Maintain communications with retail tenants, local law enforcement agencies regarding crime prevention, local fire prevention personnel;
* Identify opportunities for security improvements through audits and inspections and track implementation of upgrades;
* Remain apprised of new security strategies and technologies that would benefit the property;
* Assist in the preparation of weekly security schedule and Life Safety budgets and reconciliation of same;
* Any other tasks as directed by the Security Manager.

Skills & Experience Required:

The successful candidate will possess:

• College diploma in Law Enforcement and/or Security Administration preferred;
• Must Possess a valid Ontario Security Licence;
• Minimum of two (2) years’ security experience in retail environment;
• Minimum of two (2) years’ supervisory experience;
• Excellent inter-personal skills; strong coaching abilities, mentoring and training skills;
• Minimum of two (2) years’ technical experience operating a CCTV system and working knowledge of various security systems;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Be self-motivated, diplomatic and confident individual in order to deal with officials, local law enforcement agencies, tenants and the public;
• Must Possess a valid Ontario Drivers Licence;
• Familiar with applicable health & safety legislation (eg. WHMIS, Occupational Health & Safety);
• Certified in Level C CPR, First Aid, AED & oxygen administration;
• Must be able to provide clear Criminal Background Certificate;
• Highly organized and able to prioritize workload;
