Cushman & Wakefield are recruiting a Senior Property Accountant to join the Asset Services Finance team based in Melbourne. Excellent opportunity to take your career to the next level!

About the Role:

Financial Reporting

• To manage the financial information and reporting instructions and deliver monthly reports within specified timeframes as per client requirements.
• Preparing monthly reporting packs which includes balance sheet reconciliation, profit and loss analysis and assist PMs with variance commentaries
• Preparation of month end accruals, journals, prepayments, adjustments, income and expenses analysis.
• Co-ordination of the audit and liaison with auditors for annual statutory accounts.
• Implement new Financial Reporting Formats and Portfolio Financial Models as and when required
• Provide adhoc queries from MRI

Budgeting/Forecasting

• Work with Centre Managers/Property Managers to complete annual budgets and forecasts including reviews, analysis and checks within MRI
• Assist in the preparation of Property & Portfolio Reforecast (tenant by tenant, account by account) as required.

Outgoings Reconciliation

• Preparation of annual outgoings estimates.
• Preparation of annual outgoings reconciliation/washup and liaise with the auditors

System Management

• Provide assistance to the team with MRI & Nexus issues through to resolution
• Review new MRI & Nexus functionality to determine application for Cushman & Wakefield

About You:

• To develop and maintain close relationships with internal and external clients; and be recognized as a specialist in the delivery of financial services to clients;
• Attend office and business line meetings and conferences where required including active input and responsible actioning of required matters;
• Undertake other duties and tasks as your manager may reasonably direct from time to time.
• Minimum 5 years of retail and commercial property accounting experience;
• Strong MRI Experience required, to be able to assist with trouble shooting, upgrades & improvement initiatives
• Nexus experience favored
• Advanced excel skills and financial modelling skills are essential
• Have the ability to handle multiple properties & clients – plan, prioritise, schedule workload commitments to meet client deadlines and reporting requirements
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships with clients and colleagues and correspond effectively with all levels
• Can effectively manage withing a changing environment, & has the ability to decide and act in circumstances where ambiguity exists
• Excellent attention to detail
• Problem-solving attitude, and drive for continuous improvement
• Strong communication skills, and ability to escalate issues to key stakeholders where required
• Willingness to take on tasks and flexibility to attend events and undertake work hours necessary to meet business objectives;
• Able to coach junior staff
