National Sales Director | Corporate Office
Job Summary
The National Sales Director is responsible for providing leadership in the development and execution of market and business strategies to drive sales excellence at Camden. This position requires collaboration and influencing skills to achieve high performance on a national scale. The National Sales Director is a part of the operations team and collaborates with functions across the organization; including, operations, marketing, revenue, and learning & development (L&D) to drive business growth and ensure customer satisfaction. The National Sales Director will engage sales staff, leverage technology, and improve business processes to achieve sales excellence.
Essential Functions
- Establish strategy to achieve targeted sales, revenue, and leasing goals.
- Responsible for analyzing leasing and sales performance indicators; recommending adjustments to ensure best in class sales performance.
- Facilitates feedback sessions to identify opportunities to improve sales.
- Collaborate with the marketing department to ensure alignment of sales strategies and marketing practices.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in decisions related to technologies that will enhance the efficiency of our leasing staff and meet business needs.
- Build relationships with peers in multi-family industry to recommend opportunities.
- Stay current with emerging trends inside and outside the multifamily industry; monitor changes in the industry and recommend strategies.
- Oversee adoption of sales technologies, ensuring continuous improvement in developing, documenting, and streamlining sales processes.
- Partner with new development to ensure successful lease up strategies.
- Continuously monitor sales results to improve sales execution and achieve established goals.
- Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and sales tools.
- Responsible for secret shop program, to include the review process, setting expectations for a successful tour, and providing guidance and direction to improve sales strategy.
- Responsible for Sales Leaderboard platform, competition, validation and associated rewards.
- Evaluate effectiveness of sales incentive programs.
- Collaborate with L&D to develop tools and training to increase sales performance.
- Works with recruitment team to create strategies to attract top sales talent.
- Collaborate with revenue team on market assessments, changing customer landscape, and competitive intelligence to forecast market trends, and pricing considerations.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Five to ten years of proven experience as a sales manager or in a similar leadership role, preferably at a national or regional level.
- Strong knowledge of sales strategies, techniques, and best practices.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and make data-driven decisions.
- Multifamily management experience preferred.
- Multi-site management is a plus.
- Needs strong “hands-on” sales, financial/budget, and marketing experience.
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- CRM system experience is a plus.
- Up to 25% travel.
- This individual is a motivated sales professional with an entrepreneurial spirit willing to go above and beyond to achieve established goals.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and shape outcomes across the organization to increase sales excellence.
- Exhibits exceptional leadership ability, collaboration, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong history of meeting and exceeding sales objectives
- Has contributed to the significant growth and success of an organization.
- Exceptional presentation skills to senior-level executives and large groups
- Highly collaborative, creative, motivating, organized, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented.

- Job is intermittently sedentary but requires mobility (i.e., climb stairs)
- Will use some repetitive motion of hand-wrist in using computer and writing
- Works in a typical office setting
- Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position
- Must handle stressful, urgent, novel and diverse work situations on a daily basis
- May require long hours and odd schedules (including weekends)
- Position requires periodic travel by automobile to handle work-related activities
- May require airline travel, out-of-town and /or overnight trips
- Attendance and punctuality is essential for success in this position
- Hazards can be minimized with proper lifting techniques, SDS, general safety training, and wearing appropriate PPE
