Job Description Summary

General Description: This is a part-time position responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair and upkeep of the Shopping Centre.

Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative and minor maintenance on mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and other equipment as required
• Grass cutting and minor landscaping work, including irrigation systems
• Snow removal from sidewalks & entrances using manual and power equipment
• Assist in providing basic first aid in medical emergencies and Respond to emergency situations as required (i. e. power outage, fire, etc.)
• Set-up & take-down of mall displays and decor
• Perform minor repairs on lights, doors, locks, washroom fixtures, drywall, paint, ceiling tiles, floor tiles, concrete and asphalt and other areas/equipment as required to maintain the health and safety standards
• Keep all vehicles and equipment clean and regularly maintained.
• Maintain the upkeep of all mechanical and electrical rooms.
• Inspect & maintain the operation of fire alarm and building automation systems.
• Various other tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Knowledge/Skills/Competences:

• Secondary School Diploma
• Ability to operate equipment and hand-power tools applicable to the role including but not limited to tractor, lawnmower, snowblower, trimmer, ect.
• Ability to work independently and with other team members as necessary

• Experience in minor building repairs including electrical, plumbing, drywall and painting
  Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Flexibility and Adaptability
• Experience in operation & maintenance of the following systems: HVAC, electrical, fire alarm, sprinklers.
• Physical Requirements

– Regularly move heavy objects over 30lbs.

– Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements

– Work at heights greater than 10 feet

– Climb ladders and stairs to reach work areas

• Must be able to provide clear criminal record check
• Must have valid BC Class 5 Drivers Licence
• Must have valid BC Level 1 First Aid
