Job Description Summary

TITLE:Exterior Maintenance Person.
REPORTING TO: Operations Manager/Operations Supervisor.
DEPARTMENT: Operations – HSC Annex and Mumford Professional Center.
LOCATION: Halifax, NS.
Assists in the maintenance and appearance of the exterior/ interior of the Halifax Shopping Centre, Annex and Mumford Professional Center sits. 40 Hrs. per week. 6am to 3pm Tuesday to Saturday. Some overtime required and shift times can sometimes vary during vacation coverage.

Job Description

• Daily Exterior cleaning of parking lots, adjacent fields, planters, sidewalks, entranceways, compactor areas and walkways. Company truck will be available for onsite working hours and tasks only.
• Daily emptying of site exterior waste cans as required.
• Performs various property inspections including i.e., Monthly exterior lighting, parkade and parking lot inspections.
• Assist staff in litter picking roof areas and ensuring drains are free flowing and clear of debris.
• Daily clean up thru the parkade areas including stairwells and garbage cans as required.
• General exterior repairs of lot signs, and exterior/interior painting and repairs as directed by supervisors.
• Additional exterior/interior duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Respond and attend to tenant calls regarding (i.e., water leaks etc.) and notify supervisor as to issue and level of urgency.
• Perform minor building repairs including, interior common area lighting replacement, minor plumbing, and door repairs.
• Perform daily door, public washroom, and common area furniture inspections & repairs as necessary.
• Assist to organize and maintain operations storage, utility rooms and workshop areas.
• Perform additional tasks as requested by the operations manager or supervisor, which directly or indirectly affects the operations of the site.

QUALIFICAITONS:

• Must have general maintenance skills such as painting, minor drywall repairs, minor concrete, and asphalt repairs. Also, must have minor carpentry and minor plumbing maintenance skills.

• Must be comfortable with working in the exterior elements. Company issued PPE will be supplied.

• Must have general knowledge of building operations and respective systems HVAC and fire safety systems.

• Must show Proof of 2 Years Automobile Insurance history

• Must have valid driver’s license, abstract and clear criminal record background.
