Troubleshoot electrical equipment and controls to determine problems and perform necessary repairs. Shift Schedule: M-F ( Day Shift)
must have a valid electrical license for the state of TX.
- Maintain electrical equipment on an ongoing basis as part of Preventive Maintenance program. This will require weekly and monthly inspections of equipment and good record keeping ability. Make recommendations for the improvement of the operation of the existing electrical systems and design/layouts for future electrical systems.
- Assist in the on-the-job training of electricians and trainees.
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
- Install electrical outlets and additional lighting circuits as required.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to testing lab environments.
- Familiar with following and creating MOP, SOP, and EOP.
- Repair and maintain equipment such as UPS, Pumps, Switchgear, HVAC equipment, plus perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery including HVAC equipment, air compressors and dryers as required.
- Perform PM’s, troubleshooting, repairs, adjustments and instillations to industrial and commercial electrical systems, including electrical components of mechanical systems, for systems up to and including 600 VAC, and for control systems up to 50 VDC.
- Includes, but not limited to service motors, motor starters, and industrial control systems.
- Perform other related duties as assigned such as shoveling snow, assisting other tradesmen and emergency repairs.
- Required to be on a rotating stand by schedule with other technicians for emergency coverage.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex electronic, and DDC control issues. Design, layout and install new electrical equipment and systems with minimum supervision.
- Assisted with light plumbing patching, painting, and other building maintenance.
OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES:
Ensures compliance with all company / customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
Utilize all safety practices appropriate to the work being done. Attend, pay attention, and participate in safety meetings and training. Observe and report safety violations. Use fall protection equipment and work on elevated areas.
- Submit work orders with time, comments, and needed paperwork.
- Perform work requested in time allotted. Communicate the completion of the work to Planner / Scheduler and / or Supervisor.
- Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals to include employee development planning.
- Communications with all team members to support the development of short- and long-range planning in support of the company’s goals and objectives.
- Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
- Accurate and timely administrative duties to include, but not limited to, time accounting and work order completion.
- Ensure client satisfaction with delivery of facility services and actively strive to increase customer satisfaction.
REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education and/or Experience):
EDUCATIONAL (Vocational and Technical Included)
High school plus technical/vocational school training.
EXPERIENCE (Special Skills Included)
Minimum
- College degree in engineering field a plus, but not required. Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Electrical license a plus.
- Must be willing to continue training in their skill set to maintain knowledge in the latest equipment and technologies in their assigned duties.
- 5+ years of experience as licensed electrician, or equivalent, having performed work on industrial and commercial electrical equipment and systems.
- 2+ years of experience in mission critical infrastructure (Generators, UPS, data centers, labs, and manufacturing environment)
- Should be familiar with and know the requirements of the “arc flash” standard NFPA 70E
- Familiarity with electrical power distribution systems above 600 VAC (ie 2300 VAC and / or 4160 VAC) is a plus.
- Familiarity with UPS, Switchgears, Motor VFD’s, Generators and Electrical distribution.
