Lease Compliance Management Specialist
- Liaise with (1) Property Operations, (2) Regional Associates, (3) Corporate Departments, (4) NAA, TAA, Blue Moon, and (5) outside counsel.
- Assist as needed in responding to lease regulatory inquiries.
- Manage and respond to team member daily lease support requests.
- Encourage local team member involvement with NAA, local affiliates, and local counsel.
- Strong understanding of technology including the Property Management Systems (Yardi, RealPage, Entrata), Blue Moon and/or knowledge on lease documents; develop relationships and work directly with systems support and vendors to expedite required changes.
- Assist with NAA, TAA and Blue Moon releases with Property Operations and Corporate Support Departments as needed.
- Collaborate with support groups on developing standards and creating training resources to support the lease documents.
- Identify lease document challenges/processes and work with the internal and external teams to make enhancements.
- Coordinate and work with the Property Management Systems teams on document management.
- Assist with the Lease Compliance reporting structure for state and property lease compliance health.
- Enhance the onboarding process for lease set up.
- Leverage relationships with NAA, local affiliates, and local counsel to assist with lease training and document needs.
- Work across all lines of the business to bridge gap on lease compliance issues.
- Coordinate with the National and Regional Compliance teams to monitor lease compliance with local requirements.
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Prepares, reviews, and negotiates client and vendor contracts.
2. Recognizes and understands business terms, legal concepts, and areas of risk to efficiently negotiate client and vendor contracts that manage risk to the company.
3. Ensures adherence to the company’s contract policies and procedures.
4. Manages contract lifecycle process including preparation and execution of contracts, tracking negotiations, tracking client specific requirements, and abstracting fully-executed contracts.
5. Provides guidance to business teams and operations regarding areas of risk, contractual language and existing contractual obligations.
6. Provides support to the management of commercial litigation, claims, and disputes, including (a) the preparation and review of a variety of litigation-related documents which may include pleadings, releases, settlement, (b) assisting with discovery, investigating facts, researching and many other facets of law, and (c) coordinating with outside counsel regarding all facets of pending litigation, including discovery and billing.
7. Performs other projects as requested to support Greystar’s Legal Services team.
Depending on the position offered, regular full-time and part-time team members may be eligible to participate in a bonus program in addition to their base salary.
