Position Summary:
Under direct supervision an IT Engineer I is responsible for contributing to design and implementation of information technology systems. Exhibits strong commitment to architecture design and security best practices to ensure high availability of infrastructure and applications. Works across teams to deliver solutions to meet business needs and ensure efficient operations. Displays an enterprise and future looking view when assessing solutions. This will be a hybrid position, the candidate will need to report to the Des Moines, IA Corporate office 3 days a week.
Essential Job Functions:
- Contributes to architectural design of information technology across teams and systems.
- Ensures the security of data and high availability of systems is part of system design.
- Completes installation and configuration of systems to meet defined requirements.
- Collaborates with team members on a consistent and timely basis.
- Ability to use an enterprise view when designing solutions.
- Ability to provide escalated support for information technology systems.
- Follows project execution plans.
- Work with third party vendors and service providers.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor s degree in technology related field or 6-8 years experience in field or related area
- Knowledge or study in one or more of the following areas:
- Ability to engage in all phases of the project lifecycle
- Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize work functions
- Ability to lead, mentor and train
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to effectively communicate technology infrastructure, processes, procedures and policies to stakeholders
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of technology changes and trends
- The ability and means to travel up to 5% locally, overnight, in specific regions or states via automobile and airplane may be required.
- Ability to work as needed, on-call, to assist with emergencies
- Excellent customer service, timely response and customer focus skills
- A positive, team-oriented attitude
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people in a collaborative environment
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Work Schedule:8am-5pm, Monday-Friday, or as needed to meet business needs; may require working hours outside normal business hours for on-call emergencies.

This job generally operates in a professional office environment but may also occasionally operate in an outdoor environment. While performing the duties of this job, employees must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time, occasionally move about the office, constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, communicate regularly and effectively with others, both written and verbally, and may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
This position requires close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
The ability and means to travel locally, overnight, in specific regions or states via automobile and airplane may be required.
