IT Data Governance Analyst

Job Summary

The IT Data Steward reports to the VP of Business Intelligence and facilitates the enterprise data governance process. They are responsible for guiding governance discussions throughout the organization and maintaining the integrity of the enterprise data catalog. This position will also work to influence data health and literacy by encouraging MAA associates to leverage enterprise data service to promote business initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Facilitates data governance meetings on a regular cadence

• Leverages master data management (MDM) platform to administer MDM data domains

• Maintains documentation for data environments and content

• Promotes healthy data stewardship throughout the organization by perpetually increasing data literacy and refining data governance

• Works closely with Data Management and Data Analytics team to manage the health of data services

• Owns and administers enterprise Data Catalog, Data Dictionary, and other artifacts pertaining to the data program

• Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer science, or a related field with five (3-5) years of experience in Data Management or related analytical field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience required

• Direct experience in Data Management andor Governance platforms (including Data Catalogs, MDM platforms, andor Meta-Data platforms) required

• Direct experience building and maintaining a data governance program, with associated artifacts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Profisee

• Experience with Azure Purview

• Experience with Power BI

• Working knowledge of tSQL

• Real estate experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge and skill with Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server

• Knowledge of MDM and data governance principles and best practices

• Skill in facilitating collaborative efforts at an enterprise senior leader level

• Ability to communicate clearly and attend to detail

• Capable of thinking categorically and executing with consistency

• Demonstrable skill in gathering requirements from users with an ability to communicate clearly and concisely with both technical and non-technical skill sets

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
