Job Description Summary:

Facilities Maintenance Technicians work within a facility management organization that provides a variety of operation and maintenance services within a 24/7/365 environment that includes non-critical data environments and commercial office space. The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance tasks, building/equipment inspections, equipment repairs/modifications, and general labor. This position does not require any trade specific license or training.

Job Description:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Routine maintenance inspections and preventative maintenance
• General maintenance repairs – equipment troubleshooting, filter maintenance, carpentry, lighting repairs, restroom maintenance, painting, materials handling
• Support janitorial and landscaping services on an as needed basis
• Assist other members of the maintenance team in an apprentice capacity as required
• Provide a high level of service and quality while completing assigned tasks as scheduled
• Provide positive customer interactions and demonstrate creative problem solving
• Maintain work and inventory records using provided digital tools
• Comply with company policies and safety requirements/programs

Training & Education Requirements:

• High School graduate, GED, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a commercial or industrial environment
• Must have flexibility to work overtime and work on an on-call basis, as may be dictated by the needs of the business
• Ability use/navigate personal computers and smart phone/tablets to complete basic business functions
• Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, management, and client representatives

• Must possess a valid state driver’s license
• Must pass a criminal background check

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Ability to work in an environment with exposure to dust, chemicals, and loud noises
• Must have ability to stoop, stand, climb, frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pumps, tools, ladders) and safely install rigging/lifting devices
• Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine
• Involves movement between departments, floors, and properties to facilitate work
• Ability to read and understand information presented orally and in writing
• Regularly required to utilize vision abilities, allowing reading of printed material, drawings, and schematics
