Cushman & Wakefield Energy and Sustainability Services team is looking for an experienced Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Manager to help us manage the ESG performance of our clients’ portfolios. As an ESG Manager, you will support ESG program needs including data management, strategy, policies, and resource development and implementation, stakeholder engagement, and reporting of ESG initiatives.You will help coordinate data collection with Asset and Property Managers to gather various ESG key performance indicators such utility data, certifications, audits, and efficiency measures that help our clients measure their ESG performance. You will provide data management support in the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager platform and Measurabl platform (as applicable). You will also assist clients in performing sustainability audits that assess a property’s energy, water, waste, carbon emissions and indoor air quality.
The ESG Manager will also support our client’s ESG programs with developing tailored strategies that guide them in achieving their ESG objectives. Strategies may include, conducting materiality assessments, developing ESG policies or integrating ESG into existing policies and procedures, developing guidelines to engage property managers and tenants in best practices, or assessing and reporting energy, water and waste performance quarterly. You will also help complete client due diligence questionnaires and support educational webinars and presentations. Furthermore, you will also support the Cushman & Wakefield team with creating resources that guide our property manager’s in meeting our firm’s ESG objectives, as well as our clients.

- Develop client ESG strategy, policies, and processes that align with industry best practices outlined in frameworks such as GRESB, the Taskforce for Climate Related Financial Disclosures, and the Global Reporting Initiative.
- Assist with portfolio-wide data collection to enable better reporting internally and externally (e.g., data collection into client platforms like ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and Measurabl).
- Perform data analysis and advise on opportunities to develop and improve data management strategy and establish targets.
- Develop or enhance ESG policies and processes and identify gaps against industry best practice and drive improvement.
- Develop annual and quarterly ESG report content for clients that proficiently tell their story to stakeholders.
- Support our Investor clients as a single point of contact (SPOC) with reporting of ESG metrics
- Develop materials to educate and engage tenants, property management, senior management, and building ownership of ESG efforts and projects
- Organizational champion for ESG program, which includes educating and communicating expectations throughout
- Maintain awareness of global ESG trends, tools and metrics and act as a leader establishing data driven ESG goals, milestones and metrics
- Provide strategic leadership, day-to-day project oversight, and management supervision over assigned sustainability projects and project teams
- Actively lead and manage in the preparation of sustainability and energy management proposals and contracts
- Establish and maintain client focus through performance goals, deliverables, reports, and value-added services
- Identify strategic partnerships and alliances with national energy and sustainability providers and vendors
- Contribute to the growth of the Sustainability Services practice by proactively working with offices/markets/clients and building relationships across Cushman & Wakefield
- Utilize contacts in the real estate industry to identify new business opportunities, including key accounts and portfolio projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree; Sustainable Building, Real Estate, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
- 3-5+ years of professional experience with sustainable real estate and/or ESG
- Project Management Experience
- Experience with top ESG Reporting Frameworks including GRESB, UNPRI, CDP etc.
- Familiar with key ESG Standards including GRI, TCFD, SASB etc.
- Ability to manage, manipulate and analyze utility billing and usage data (energy, water, waste)
- Familiarity with Green Building Certifications including LEED, ENERGY STAR, Fitwel etc.
- Familiarity with building systems and local/state benchmarking regulations
- Experience managing relationships and setting expectations with ESG program managers, asset managers, property managers, and project teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, and Measurabl
- Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
- Demonstrated success as an effective manager and leader
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and technical presentation ability
- The qualified candidate will be detail oriented, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, extremely professional, and customer service oriented
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent public speaking skills (conferences, meetings with internal global teams and clients)
