Job Description

The Sustainability business unit is responsible for the delivery of sustainability services including energy, emissions, waste, water and supply chain management to Cushman & Wakefield’s client accounts, as well as other direct clients. Strategy & Client Advisory is one of three functional areas under the Sustainability business unit, and is responsible for the delivery of client engagement, strategy, and advisory services, and supporting the integration of the broader Sustainability functions into our client accounts.

As a member of Strategy & Client Advisory, this role will primarily deliver sustainability program services as part of Cushman & Wakefield’s Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) contract with key clients, but will also deliver sustainability strategy effort for ad-hoc and non-IFM aligned clients as required.

The key to success in this role is understanding sustainability principles as they relate to the built environment and being able to develop and deliver client specific solutions to meet long-term goals. As well as an interest in remaining at the forefront of a changing industry to bring best-practice to Cushman & Wakefield clients.

About the role:

  • Co-ordinate and deliver elements of Sustainability Improvement Programs including preparation of environmental reports and management of environmental initiatives.
  • Identify and implement environmental improvement initiatives.
  • Project manage the delivery of projects and ensure delivery against agreed milestones including: Project budgets, project timetable, monitor and report on progress to ensure operations are within established parameters.
  • Prepare environmental reports in line with project requirements, as required by the Advisor or Managers.
  • Liaise with appropriate bodies (Industry Associations, Government Co-ordinating Agencies, electricity, and water supply organisations etc).
  • Be the key sustainability contact with many NSW Sustainability clients, managing internal stakeholders, clients and external parties such as government departments.
  • Work as an integrated, informed, effective, and positive member of the Cushman & Wakefield team in relation to but not limited to safety, culture, administrative policies and procedures, systems of work, delivery, knowledge building, learning and development
  • Under limited direction, deliver a range of Sustainability Strategy services. Represent Sustainability in dealings with clients:

About You:

  • 5 years experience in environmental sustainability project management and initiative delivery.
  • Experience or understanding in Climate Active, GRESB, CDP and ESG materiality principles.
  • Graduate qualifications in environmental engineering, science, or related discipline qualifications desirable.
  • Excellent research, analytical, technical report writing skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental or energy legislation (e.g. NGERS) and regulations desirable.
  • Ability to work independently [self-starter] and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Planning and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Basic commercial understanding.
