Director of Recruiting | Corporate Office

Job Summary

The Director of Recruiting will be responsible for process and people management, and for setting the strategic direction for talent acquisition in a challenging and changing labor market. This role requires a leader who will engage and develop team members at all levels of experience, utilizing their unique skills and diverse strengths. The Director will translate Camden’s strategy into a workforce plan to deliver the talent that moves the company forward. Working closely with key stakeholders, they will anticipate and define the future talent needs of our company, assess our readiness to compete in the future, and establish talent strategies to shape our talent investments for the future.The Director of Recruiting will guide strategy development, prioritize requisitions, establish metrics, and allocate resources to take the team to the next level. This individual will work closely with executives, develop strong relationships with key leaders, and ensure a great hiring experience for all candidates.In partnership with Camden’s Organizational Development leadership team, this individual will proactively manage organizational development strategies such as succession planning, workforce development, key employee retention, organization design, and change management.

Essential Functions

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Recruiting team to achieve company hiring goals
  • Develop cooperative business relationships with department leaders and hiring managers to collaborate on and advise regarding staffing strategies throughout hiring process.
  • Understand the strategies of our business and the impact of emerging technology, market shifts, and workforce changes to identify talent needs for the future and establish a strategy to ensure the right mix of talent, technologies, and employment models to reach our goals.
  • Implement and regularly update an end-to-end workforce planning process, including design, plan, and deployment of the workforce strategy with relevant tools and frameworks.
  • Leverage internal and external data, trends, analytics, and insights to assess talent gaps, forecast resource needs, and model future scenarios to accurately identify and prioritize talent risks and opportunities.
  • Partners with Director of DEI to ensure recruiting and hiring practices are equitable and attract diverse talent across the organization.
  • Monitor and ensure 100% compliance of hiring process activities and resolve any discrepancies that may arise prior to completion of the hiring process
  • Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field and integrates innovation solutions into current work practices.
  • Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable federal, state and local legal requirements.
  • Develops and monitors annual budgets that ensure the department has the necessary funds to carry out the goals and objectives that have been established.
  • Develops, implements, monitors, and revises annual goals and objectives for talent acquisition that support the missions and objectives of Camden.
  • Develops and maintains performance metrics that provide clarity of trending, benchmarking and insight for making program and process improvements
  • Develops and manages the Camden employment brand
  • Leads and supports staff in areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising and rewarding performance and retention
  • Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions
  • Responsible for setting project, department and/or division deadlines
  • Ensure job descriptions are current, legally compliant, and posted job descriptions are engaging to attract best candidates.
  • Develop and implement on-boarding and welcome process for smooth transition into Camden; conduct post-hire interviews to assess and improve on-boarding process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10 years of experience designing, building, and leading a full lifecycle talent acquisition function
  • Excellent business acumen and analytical skills, with proficiency in utilizing data to support a recruiting strategy, process, decision-making, and budget control
  • Experience creating and executing diversity recruiting strategies with impact
  • Comfortable “rolling up sleeves to get things done” in tandem with participating in deeply complex strategy discussions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, inclusive interpersonal skills, and the ability to build relationships and influence across all levels

  • Job is intermittently sedentary but requires mobility (i.e., climb stairs)
  • Will use some repetitive motion of hand-wrist in using computer and writing
  • Works in a typical office setting
  • Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position
  • Must handle stressful, urgent, novel and diverse work situations on a daily basis
  • May require long hours and odd schedules (including weekends)
  • Position requires periodic travel by automobile to handle work-related activities
  • May require airline travel, out-of-town and /or overnight trips
  • Attendance and punctuality is essential for success in this position
  • Hazards can be minimized with proper lifting techniques, SDS, general safety training, and wearing appropriate PPE
