Database Administrator
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Manage SQL Server databases across multiple environments for all stages of software development life cycle
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes
- Monitor system health and performance
- Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security
- Keep data secure by managing access, privileges and information migration
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Develop backup and recovery strategies and ensure servers do not exceed capacity
- Assists in management of disaster recovery protocol(s)
- Design, test and implement ETL interfaces between databases
- Analyze indexes and maintain proper indexing
- Assist data engineers with query tuning and schema refinement
- Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures, functions and interfaces using T-SQL.
- Develop documentation around existing database architecture
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree in information systems, business systems, business, or related field and/or equivalent work experience in a similar role.
- Three (3) or more years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
- Proficient with T-SQL / Stored Procedures.
- Experience with one or more of the following ETL tools: SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Dell Boomi
- Experience with Azure PaaS SQL, Azure Synapse, Azure Cost Management preferred.
- Experience with PowerShell or other scripting language preferred.
- Experience with SQL Source control / deployment via DevOps preferred.
- Experience in an Agile Development Environment preferred.
Depending on the position offered, regular full-time and part-time team members may be eligible to participate in a bonus program in addition to their base salary.
