Compensation Specialist
The Compensation Specialist reports to the Compensation Manager and provides analytical and project administration support by preparing salary survey submissions, job descriptions, and pay analyses.

Duties and Responsibilities
Participates in salary surveys for the company by gathering and organizing data, matching company jobs to survey jobs and answering survey questions to ensure completion by submission deadlines
Prepares and/or updates job descriptions according to specifications; audits job descriptions for accuracy and compliance with policies, procedures and federal regulations
Evaluates compliance with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) compliance
Provides compensation analytical support for salary offers and adjustments; prepares ad-hoc reports; evaluates internal and external value of new and existing jobs using published salary survey data and comparisons to internal jobs to assign pay grades and ranges
Prepares, initiates and/or audits compensation and related transactions including, but not limited to, pay adjustments, bonuses and incentives
Audits and analyzes data sets (e. g., pay rate and incentive calculations)
Prepares, organizes and maintains data, reports, records and files
Maintains data integrity, accuracy and confidentiality
Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and one to two years of human resources and/or analytical experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with a human resources information system (HRIS) strongly preferred
Experience with analytical and project administration experience preferred
Experience in compensation, commissions, or sales administration or related area preferred
Professional certification in compensation (CCP) and/or human resources (SHRM-SCP or CP, SPHR or PHR) preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
General knowledge of base and/or incentive compensation principles and practices, including analysis, administration, and/or compliance with state and federal laws (FLSA, EEO)
Skill and ability to clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing
Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills and attention to detail
Knowledge and skills to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments and meet deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Knowledge of human resource information systems (HRIS) or other related systems
Ability to maintain confidentiality and maintain appropriate discretion
