The Procurement Category Manager will oversee multiple Categories of spend, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management and Supplier Performance activities for specific subcategories of spend. This role will act as one of the primary points of contact for the organisation regarding category management.

We are currently recruiting for a Procurement Category Manager to join our Asset Services team. You will be a strong communicator who is able to influence key decision makers and build relationships. Essentially you will have strong project management and analytical skills and be able to ensure effective delivery of our procurement strategy.

The Category Manager will be a trusted advisor and business partner for our client and internal stakeholders as well as promoting a ‘one team’ approach with appointed service partners for a customer-centric service. You will be responsible for managing and delivering results, that support the goals and objectives for respective services.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing contract life cycles and negotiations of suppliers delivering category management across the dedicated portfolio
• Managing tenders and tender analysis
• Performing financial analysis and bench marking
• Monitoring and managing vendor performance
• Building strong relationships with suppliers and facilities managers
• Establishment of effective procurement policies and procedures
• Act as a primary point of contact in dispute resolution
• Management of our third-party vetting consultants

Requirements and Experience

• Must have a minimum of five years relevant procurement and supply management experience
• Experience within Property or Facilities Management desirable
• Experience of Energy & Utilities Procurement desirable
• Experience working within a well-structured procurement division with subject matter expertise in relevant categories
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to Champion key initiatives such as Diversity & Inclusion, Modern Slavery, ESG and data protection ensuring these key points are addressed at all stages of the tendering process
• Professional certification e.g. CPSM, CIPS, evidence of continued professional growth
