The Audio-Visual Technician position is vital to the success of everyday technology in the building. The Audio-Visual Technician sets up, tests, operates, assesses, and repairs equipment used throughout the campus. The Audio-Visual Technician will also provide technical assistance and support during events as requested or as needed. It is important that the Audio-Visual Technician be familiar with the building, its equipment, and services plus the day-to-day schedule of events.Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up/remove room setups and change room arrangements, including tables and chairs in accordance with the schedule of events.
- Ensure setup and takedown of A/V equipment is completed for all events.
- Install and maintain audio visual equipment including display devices, projectors, televisions, camera systems, video teleconferencing systems, microphones, and speakers.
- Provide excellent equipment services to meet client expectations.
- Perform equipment storage and transportation activities in a safe and secure manner.
- Perform inventory management of equipment, wirings, and accessories to avoid any shortages.
- Setup and operate audio visual equipment for trainings, presentations, meetings, and conferences.
- Perform equipment additions, removals, repairs, replacements, and inspections.
- Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Assemble and disassemble audio visual equipment as needed.
- Test equipment to ensure they are in good and safe working conditions.
- Prioritize and complete work orders accurately and timely through a CMMS system.
- Maintain the work room and storeroom to be clean, safe, and organized.
- Attend and/or participate in safety training per C&W SERVICES policy.
- Utilize and have a general understanding of national and local codes for equipment repair. Perform all work in accordance with OSHA, state and municipal requirements and C&W SERVICES safety policies.
- Perform quality work and regularly communicate repair status of devices and systems to supervisor/Manager.
- Must be able to work with informal and formal teams, with other employees and customer representatives from various departments while always demonstrating a professional demeanor.
- Perform all other tasks as assigned by supervisor/Manager in response to the needs of the client.
- Responsible for participating, seeking, and coordinating training and continued professional development in the areas of advancing technology, safety, and general skill improvement.
- Available for ON CALL duty on nights, weekends, and holidays to address emergencies
- Possible flexible hours to accommodate client needs.
- Supports the MAC Team and Engineering Team in other Facilities related tasks when there is downtime. A/V tasks and events will take priority above anything else.

- Good general working knowledge of all trades
- Proven mechanical ability and aptitude.
- Good computer skills are required, operating knowledge, and troubleshooting of audio-visual equipment and accessories
- Proven ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Demonstrates attention to detail
- Understands business implications and decisions
- Conserves organizational resources
- 2-5 years related experience and/or training at a semi-skilled level of experience of general maintenance in a commercial facility setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished by supervisor/Manager in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Increase knowledge and operation of specialized equipment through study of all manufacturer manuals and installer instructions.
