Application Analyst

As the Application Analyst you will provide operational support and maintenance for software systems utilized by Gables Residential. The Applications Analyst serves as point of contact when system issues arise and consults with vendors and other technical support teams to resolve issues and is a resource on new software implementations. The position provides administrative support to and reports directly to the Director of Application Support.
Responsibilities:
* Provide advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution for software applications used within the organization. Investigate and resolve incidents, address user inquiries, and ensure timely resolution of application-related problems.
* Configure and customize software applications including Yardi, Knock, and custom excel models based on business requirements. This may involve modifying application settings, creating and maintaining user roles and permissions, and adding new functionality to align with organizational processes.
* Monitor custom interfaces and resolve issues. Collaborate with other teams to ensure accurate and secure data integration, migration, and maintenance within software applications.
* Conduct testing to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications. This includes performing functional testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing to identify and resolve any defects or issues.
* Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into functional specifications for application enhancements or new features.
* Participate in application-related projects, such as system implementations, migrations, or upgrades. Assist in project planning, coordination, and execution.
* Assist with property dispositions and onboarding new properties.
* Stay abreast of the latest trends, advancements, and best practices in software applications and technology platforms. Engage in self-directed learning, attend industry conferences, participate in webinars, and explore online resources to expand your knowledge and skills. Actively seek opportunities for professional development, such as obtaining certifications or pursuing relevant training courses. Stay informed of all company policies and procedures.
* Assist with any other duties as assigned.
Skills:
* Strong technical understanding of databases, operating systems, and software tools.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to perform various data analysis and manipulation tasks including experience using Excel tools, such as pivot tables, data validation, sorting, formatting, and automation using macros.
* Experience with Yardi property management software including lease management, financial, and reporting modules, advanced technical support and troubleshooting, system configuration and customization, and assisting in planning, testing, and implementing new versions or modules.
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve software application issues.
* Ability to gather and analyze business needs and user requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
* Effective communication skills including ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and concise manner, actively listen to user feedback, and collaborate with other departments and teams to achieve common goals.
* Keen eye for detail to identify and analyze complex issues within software applications to ensure accuracy in system configurations, data analysis, and documentation.
* Adaptable and willing to learn new technologies and tools.
* Strong customer service skills to provide effective support to user inquiries and technical issues.
* Competent documentation skills to maintain accurate records of system configurations, processes, and issues to facilitate troubleshooting and ensure knowledge transfer.
* Sense of self-motivation, initiative, and focus to seek out opportunities to enhance skills and continually strive for excellence.
* Ability to evaluate the importance, urgency, and impact of different tasks or issues.
* Ability to collaborate within a team environment including active participation and contribution in team discussions.
Work Location: The position is located at the Gables Residential Headquarters in Atlanta, GA (Buckhead). The current work from home policy is three days per week in the office and two days per week remote and is subject to change. The position may require occasional travel 1-3 times per year for meetings and training.
Education: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience: Generally, a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in application support, analysis, or a related roles is desirable
Position Type: Full-time; Salary (Exempt)
Licenses and Equipment: Position requires individuals to have access to telephone and internet services to fulfill job functions remotely when needed.
