Health, Harmony, Hope: The Heart of AACI
A Beacon of Hope and Health for Diverse Communities
Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) was founded in 1973, primarily to serve Southeast Asian refugees in the Bay Area. Since then, AACI has evolved into a pivotal organization offering a wide range of health and wellness services, particularly to marginalized and ethnic communities in Santa Clara County. Today, AACI is known for its culturally competent healthcare and support services, making it a cornerstone for community health and resilience.
AACI’s Mission and Vision
The mission of AACI is to strengthen the hope and resilience of community members by improving their health, mental health, and well-being. This mission is driven by the vision that everyone in their diverse community should be healthy, safe, and well. AACI upholds values of equity, cultural sensitivity, integrity, and excellence, ensuring that all services are accessible to those in need, regardless of their financial status or immigration background.
Comprehensive and Culturally Competent Healthcare
At the core of AACI’s services are primary and preventive healthcare, tailored to meet the needs of a diverse clientele. This includes chronic disease management, integrated behavioral health, pediatric services, immunization, and women’s health. Their patient navigators play a crucial role in guiding patients through the healthcare system, overcoming language and cultural barriers. This comprehensive approach ensures that healthcare is not just a service but a right accessible to all, reflecting AACI’s commitment to equality and inclusivity
