JOB POSTING CHECKLIST

 

Company Description:  Have you included a description of your company?  Does it accurately convey your work atmosphere?  Based on the description, is your company someplace you would want to work?

 

Benefits:  What benefits does your company offer?  Vacation, retirement, and insurance packages are very important to many job seekers.

 

Location:  Where is the position located?  Have you clearly included the city and state? It is the World Wide Web and job seekers could be looking at your ad from anywhere.

 

Job Title:  Is the job title accurate and standard for the industry?

 

Duties:  What will the employee be doing day to day?  How does the position fit in the company?  Why would someone want this job?  Remember that you are selling the job, not just describing it.

 

Skills:  What skills are essential for doing the job well?  What skills would be nice to have?  Be specific what skills are necessary for the position: you’ll save time for everyone involved.

 

Experience and Training:  What work experience, training, and level are education are necessary to be successful for this position?

 

Pay Range:  Have you included an accurate pay range for the position?  Job Seekers often use salary as a key search criterion.  So, to be seen more often, you should include it.

 

Clear Call to Action:  How would you like the job seeker to contact you? Apply online, visit your website, fax a resume, or other?

 

Relevant Keywords:  Have you included the relevant keywords needed for your posting? Make sure they accurate to assure that job seekers will pull up your ad more often.

 

Finishing Touches:    Have you checked for spelling and grammar and eliminated any jargon?  Can you skim the ad and understand the details of position?
